Bamford in Derbyshire is set in the hills about 11 miles north east of Buxton. This small village boasts a church tower as tall and slim as any in the county, surmounted by a sharp spire. The countryside around adds to Bamford's attraction. To the north lies the chain of three huge reservoirs, Ladybower, Derwent and Howden, separated by massive dams, under whose waters lie two villages. An exciting scenic drive is along the shore of the Ladybower and on over the famous Snake Pass to Glossop. Each year sheepdog trials are held at Bamford.
