Visit Ilfracombe Devon and the surrounding villages and stay in bed breakfast, hotel or holiday cottage accommodation provided by BedPosts members.
Ilfracombe is a seaside resort in Devon. There is a natural harbour surrounded by cliffs which was once an important safe port. The Torrs Local Nature Reserve can be found on the South West Coast Path.
Ilfracombe is the largest seaside resort in North Devon, differing from most big resorts in being built around its old harbour. There are many good shingle beaches, two of them reached by tunnels through the rocks. The landscape along the coast and around the town is hilly and steep. Ilfracombe's many amenities include golf, boat trips and fishing. There are coastal walks to several local viewpoints on each side of the town. The medieval Chapel of St Nicholas, which stands on a rock at the entrance to the harbour, was restored in the 1960s.
