Visit Hayfield Derbyshire and the surrounding villages and stay in B&B, hotel or holiday accommodation accommodation provided by BedPosts members.
The village of Hayfield was once filled with the noise of cotton and paper mills, calico printing and dye works. It has also been the scene of protest - in 1830 a mob of 1000 mill workers gathered to demand a living wage and 11 men appeared at Derby Assizes as a result.
102 years later Hayfield was the starting point for the ‘mass trespass' of ramblers onto Kinder Scout which eventually resulted in 'the right to roam'.
Hayfield is now a tourist destination and offers many little cafés and restaurants.
Serious walkers head to the russet expanse of the Kinder plateau.
